Top tips using Teams

New to Teams? Here are a few things you find useful as a guest in an RCPCH Team.

Use the chat

Use the chat function to have separate conversations with members of the RCPCH teams that you are part of.

Write a post

When you are writing a new post in a Team and Click on Enter, it will automatically create the a new post. If you want to add a paragraph line to you post, simply click Shift+Enter keys.

Mention someone

If you want to mention someone in your post use @ and then type name of the person you want mention. You should see a dropdown with all the members of the team. If you want to mention everyone in the Team, use @ followed by the Team name or General. Using @ is going to send a notification to the people you tagged and you are much more likely to receive a response like this.

Mistake? No problem

Edit your post if you made a mistake or clicked Enter by mistake. You can do this by:

  • Clicking on the post you wish to edit
  • Click on the three dots option (…)
  • Select Edit

Get notifications

Turn on the notifications for your Channel. This is particularly useful when you are a member of multiple RCPCH teams and only log in periodically. To turn on notifications:

  • Click on General in the relevant Team or Chanel
  • Click on the three dots (…)
  • Click on Channel Notifications and set your notifications according to your preferences.
